Drax Technology helps deliver savings at Bath University
Drax Technology has recently succeeded in supplying products to Bath University to deliver significant improvements to the safety of staff and students as well as financial savings by way of improved productivity.

The campus comprises multiple standalone buildings and overlooks the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, where other university buildings are also located.
The University was keen to improve the monitoring of the many separate fire and ancillary alarm systems that were installed across the campus and not currently reporting to the central security control room.

Drax Technology created a virtual alarm network using the University of Bath’s existing IT infrastructure, connecting each system using either a SMaRT Cube or a SMaRT Connect interface. A dedicated PC running Drax Technology’s powerful AMX alarm monitoring software was deployed by Drax Technology partner, Wessex Fire & Security, the University of Bath’s preferred installer of fire and security systems.

The Drax Technology solution has allowed the University of Bath to monitor all locations, whether on the main campus or in the City of Bath.  It provides security staff with instant access to the status of every connected system to improve the response to alarm activations and deliver a higher level of protection to students, staff and assets.
The Estates Department has also been able to improve the management of all connected alarm systems regardless of location.  Staff can now isolate devices, or access control panels remotely, identify device faults and check maintenance is being carried out thoroughly and to the required schedule.
