Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is made up of two of London’s oldest and most well known teaching hospitals. The hospitals have a long history, dating back almost 900 years. St Thomas’ was first founded in 1172 and Guy’s in 1725. Both hospitals have been at the forefront of clinical care, innovation and education since they were established. Located in the heart of the capital, collectively Guy’s and St Thomas’ operates the largest critical care service in the UK.
A Drax Technology AMX alarm management systems has been utilised for many years to help protect patients and staff on the Guy’s hospital site where many different fire alarm systems exist and where thousands of devices are monitored 24/7. Initially installed as part of a new building program in the 1990’s, the AMX alarm management system has evolved as well as grown to encompass many other existing buildings and their fire alarm systems across the site. Even after nearly 20 years AMX continues to be an invaluable alarm management tool for both the Trust and its fire alarm maintenance providers.
